HOLY TRINITY ESL PROGRAM (English as a Second Language) is looking for volunteers to teach English to some of our Hispanic parishioners. Volunteers will teach ONCE a week from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Parish Center. The days available to choose from are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Those interested are asked to please contact Fr. Dairo at the rectory at 269-8791 or Martha Palacios at 949-0745.

 

THE GARDENER’S MARKET, presented by the Wallingford Garden Club and Wallingford Center, Inc., invites you to stop by the Railroad Station Green on Saturday mornings through September 16th, to check out the displays and produce on sale from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon. Enjoy the plants, flowers, arrangements, unique crafts and cooking demos that are available, along with answers to your gardening questions. EUCHARISTIC YOUTH RALLY 2006

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28      1:00-9:00 PM

“Deus Caritas Est” (God Is Love)

 

The youth of the parish are invited to participate in this special local rally, which promises to bring spiritual enrichment and excitement in being present with God and with other area youth. Events include the celebration of the Mass; Music by the R.O.C.K. Group (Revival of Catholic Kids), dynamic speakers and witness talks, a special team challenge game with cash and prizes, and a special Candlelight Adoration and Procession of the Holy Eucharist. God is Love! The cost is $20, which includes registration, a pizza party, and a special souvenir of the occasion. “CONSIDER YOURSELF ASKED” SUMMER BLOOD DRIVE, sponsored by the parish Christians In Action Committee to benefit the American Red Cross, will take place on Wednesday, August 16 in the church hall from 1:00-5:45 PM. A safe and ample blood supply in the community is necessary for patients in need. Many people have not donated blood simply because they have not been asked. Please Consider Yourself Asked! Christians In Action members will be on hand next weekend after all Masses in the main doorway of the church to schedule appointments. If you have any questions about donating or wish to make an appointment by phone or on the web, contact the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or at www.bloodct.org. All presenting donors will be entered into drawings for a Metropolitan Honda 5Occ scooter, Rock Cat & Red Sox “Blood Donor of the Day” Prize packs, and a daily drawing for a $50 gas card.

REMINDER FOR THOSE WHO ARE ATTENDING THE “PROUD 2B CATHOLIC FESTIVAL” on August 12: The bus will be leaving promptly at 10:00 AM from the Most Holy Trinity parking lot, and will be returning around 11:45 PM. Please bring with you a picnic style lunch, a cooler, lawn chair, sunscreen, AND A DESIRE TO SHOW FRAMINGHAM, MA. THAT MOST HOLY TRINITY PARISHIONERS ARE PROUD TO BE CATHOLIC. CREDO CATHOLIC SINGLES will be embarking on a relaxing cruise aboard the Port Jefferson Ferry out of Bridgeport as it glides across the beautiful Long Island Sound. The cruise across is 1 hr. and 15 min. and docks on the shore of the quaint village of Port Jefferson, Long Island. Enjoy walking through the village, browsing at the shops and sampling one of the great places to eat! The Sunset Cruise back leaves at 6:30 PM. Come for the day and join your hosts, Jean and Barbara.   1. Judas left early and we know what happened to him.
  1. The recessional music is awesome praise.
  1. Respect for other parishioners and the priest.
  1. After being at a banquet, where Jesus is the Guest of Honor, it is rude and impolite to eat and run.
  1. Communion is a holy time, a time to be in prayer, not preoccupied with other things.
  1. We celebrate as a community.
  1. Liturgy is not a spectator sport. It requires full and active participation.
  1. The final prayers and blessings give us strength to live the Mass.
  1. We need it and we are worth it.
