PRE-BAPTISM CLASSES – Baptism classes help prepare first time parents (and others) for bringing their child up in the faith, selecting godparents, and introducing or reviewing with them the special sacrament they are requesting for their child from the church. Baptism Day is truly a blessed, exciting, and joyful day for parents, child, families, and the church. Classes are held on the last Tuesday of each month, with few exceptions. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall. Parents or soon-to-be-parents MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF HOLY TRINITY PARISH. Those wishing to attend a Tuesday class must call the rectory to register, 269-8791.

SUNDAY BIBLE SCHOOL - Class will take place in the Church Hall in February on February 11, and 25 during the 10:30 AM Mass. There will NOT be Bible School on February 18.

YOU’RE CATHOLIC & WANTED TO BE A GODPARENT, BUT COULDN’T BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT CONFIRMED? Or did you make your Communion but didn’t go on to receive your Confirmation? If you are now ready to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are invited to attend Adult Confirmation classes being offered by the Archdiocese. This 6-week program will be held at several locations; the closest is at St. Joan of Arc in Hamden , beginning March 29 to May 10, from 7-9 PM. There is a $15 fee for books. Applications are available in the rectory office, and when completed must be approved and signed by Fr. Gary. Baptism and sponsor certificates will be needed along with the completed application. Upon completing the program the Sacrament of Confirmation will be given at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford on May 21, 2007 at the 7:30 PM Mass.

YOUTH GROUP (high school students) will NOT meet on Sunday, February 4^th. Please mark your calendar for the next meeting which will be on Sunday, February 18^th at the Parish Center . Also remember to attend the Valentine’s Day Babysitting Night on Wednesday, February 14 in the Church Hall from 5:30-8:00 PM.

DYNAMIC DISCIPLES (our junior high group) will be at the Parish Center next Sunday, February 11 at 7:00 PM.

CELEBRATION OF THE EUCHARIST TAPING – On Friday, February 9^th, Father Jeff will be taping the televised Mass at the Archdiocesan Office of Radio and Television chapel in Prospect. Anyone wishing to join him at the Mass is requested to join the car pool and be in the Holy Trinity parking lot by 9:05 AM on Friday morning.

CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP will meet with Father Jeff in the Church from 7-8:30 PM on Monday, February 19^th. Everyone is invited to join in prayer.

OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP SOCIETY will hold their first meeting of 2007 on Monday, February 12 at 1:30 PM in the Church Hall. Hostesses for this meeting are Leah Gober and Peggy Dringoli. ARTS & CRAFTS WORKSHOPS FOR THE BAZAAR COUNTRY STORE will begin in the church hall at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 5^th, and on upcoming Monday evenings; or IN YOUR OWN HOME should you want to work at home. Anyone who has any ideas for crafts that can be made and sold at the bazaar is asked to please bring a sample to the workshop.

We are very grateful to the many parishioners who contributed to last week’s Annual Holy Trinity School Maintenance Collection. The contributions amounted to $ 4,636.00. This collection helps the continued maintenance of our parish school. Thank you again for your generosity. - Father Gary

This Tuesday, February 6, the scheduling of Masses and Sanctuary Lamps for our loved ones and special occasions, will take place in the church hall in order to provide enough space to make everyone comfortable while patiently waiting (first come, first serve basis) their turn. “Coffee…and” will be served beginning at 9:00 AM and continue until the lines dwindle (usually around Noon). After that time, Masses may be scheduled during office hours, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekdays at the rectory. Or, if you wish, you may call the rectory during office hours to arrange your Masses by phone (269-8791). We hope that everyone understands that only one book can be made available for one person to record at a time and, of course, we ask that everyone take into consideration the size of our parish and the many requests. PLEASE CONSOLIDATE YOUR INTENTIONS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. MASSES MAY BE LIMITED DUE TO THE FACT THAT IN 2008 THERE WILL BE FEWER MASSES AVAILABLE. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR REQUESTS AND THOSE OF OUR PARISH FAMILY.

Mass request stipends will be accepted as follows: $25 for High Masses (weekend & some holy day); and $15 for Low Mass (weekday); and $15 for the Sanctuary Lamp. ARCHDIOCESAN OFFICE FOR BLACK CATHOLIC MINISTRIES invites you to attend a “soul-stirring” Mass celebrating BLACK HISTORY MONTH and National Day of Prayer for the African American Family on Tuesday, February 4^th at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 140 Farmington Avenue , Hartford . KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP – The Donald O’Byrne Scholarship is offered for students entering a Catholic high school. Applications and details are available at local Wallingford 8^th grade schools, including Holy Trinity School , and Catholic high schools, and the Pinta Council Knights of Columbus Hall, 279 Quinnipiac Street , Wallingford . The scholarship applies to students who are a practicing Catholic, child, grandchild, or stepchild of a Wallingford Pinta Council #5 member (in good standing,) or a Wallingford resident. ST. VALENTINE’S DAY BABYSITTING NIGHT, sponsored by our Youth Group, will take place on Wednesday, February 14^th from 5:30-8:00 PM in the Church Hall. Parents… enjoy an evening out together,… and leave your children with us. Take advantage of our service of entertaining your children with pizza, music, games, and other fun activities. The cost to you is a donation of disposable diapers for BIRTHRIGHT, that will be collected the evening of the event. WINTER WARNING!!! We cannot stress enough the fact that during the winter months the north side (parking lot) entrance to the church can become extremely dangerous. This is due to the fact that the sun does not shine on that side of the church.

FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY we encourage you to enter through the front three entrances… and those of you who have difficulty walking … PLEASE USE THE ELEVATOR. We do our best to keep the stairs, walks and parking lots as safe as possible. But PLEASE understand that sometimes (depending on the time and severity of the storm) it is impossible to keep up with all of the stairways. Please do not assume or expect your “usual” or “favorite” entrance will be passable. We try to concentrate on the center door and elevator entrances and the walkways leading to them. Please head for these entrances when the weather is inclement. We ask that you not only be CAUTIOUS but PATIENT as well! Thank you.

“NEW DAY” / OUR PARISH BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP will get together on Wednesday, February 7^th and February 28^th this month. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM at the Parish Center .
