Now that the holidays are over and although we’re a “bit cold”, we can’t complain that “we’ve had it” with shoveling snow! We can, however, complain that we’re beginning to get a little bored… and it’s been so cold that we are out all we want to do is get home!!! Well, enough is enough. In order to get some exercise in and at the same time enjoy the company of members of our parish family… the BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE invites men, women and teenagers to help resume the painting that needs to be completed in the church hall, ladies room and inside areas of the church. Anyone having any questions is asked to call Marty Cassella, 269-1913 or Bob Selmecki, 269-1389. Those who would like to volunteer their time are more than welcome to meet in the church hall between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM on any, or all of the following dates: Monday February 12; Tuesday, February 20; Monday, February 26; Wednesday, February 28; Thursday, March 1; Monday, March 5 and Thursday, March 8. (The reason for the dates being so sparse is that the use of the church/hall is so much in demand that other parish activities are already scheduled.). At the end of each scheduled “painting party” a light supper (soup, sandwiches, pasta, stew, etc.) is served to the workers. Anyone wishing to prepare and serve something is asked to please call Judy Cassella, 269-1913, for available dates. BINGO will be held in the Church Hall on Friday, February 16 at 7:00 PM. WINTER WARNING!!! We cannot stress enough the fact that during the winter months the north side (parking lot) entrance to the church can become extremely dangerous. This is due to the fact that the sun does not shine on that side of the church. FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY we encourage you to enter through the front three entrances… and those of you who have difficulty walking … PLEASE USE THE ELEVATOR. We do our best to keep the stairs, walks and parking lots as safe as possible. But PLEASE understand that sometimes (depending on the time and severity of the storm) it is impossible to keep up with all of the stairways. Please do not assume or expect your “usual” or “favorite” entrance will be passable. We try to concentrate on the center door and elevator entrances and the walkways leading to them. Please head for these entrances when the weather is inclement. We ask that you not only be CAUTIOUS but PATIENT as well! Thank you. “NEW DAY” / OUR PARISH BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP will get together on Wednesday, February 28th. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM at the Parish Center .
