DIVINE MERCY HOLY HOUR – There will be a special Holy Hour of Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 15 at 4:00 PM in Most Holy Trinity church. This special time of prayer will include Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the sung Chaplet of Diving Mercy and other prayers, meditation music and Benediction. Please plan on joining together as a Catholic family to celebrate this special day and be filled with the joy, peace, and mercy o God in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Hospitality Committee invites you to the church hall for refreshments afterward. In 1931, Our Lord appeared to Saint Faustina Kowalska and told her of His desire that there be a special feast recognizing His great mercy, which He wishes to give to all. This Feast of Mercy is to take place on the Sunday after Easter and the merciful image of Jesus is to be blessed on this day. This feast is not celebrated in churches all over the world.

The school board will meet on Monday, April 2 at 7:00 PM at the Parish Center .

Report cards will be distributed on Thursday, April 5.

Students will be dismissed on Holy Thursday, March 5 at 12:30 PM. There will be NO SCHOOL on Good Friday, April 6.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS BUILD STRONG MINDS AND COMPASSIONATE HEARTS - and there are openings for the 2007-2008 school year at Holy Trinity School .  Please contact Sr. Katie Kelly, Principal for information, tour, and/or application, 269-4476.

What is Passiontide?     Passiontide begins with the Vigil of the 5th Sunday of Lent until the conclusion of the Good Friday Services. This is the last phase of Lenten Season and therefore known as “Passiontide”.     During Passiontide, the Crosses and Statues near the Altar and throughout the church (with the exception of the Stations of the Cross) are traditionally covered with a plain violet veil.
Why Are The Crosses and Statues In Church Covered During Passiontide?
Covering the Crucifix and other sacred images might seem inappropriate, since one would expect to gaze upon these sacred images more during this time when the Passion is being considered. Yet, the Liturgy of the Roman Rite teaches by absence as well as by presence. In this way being denied access to the sacred images alerts one to their presence all the more, in the same way that not having the sacrifice of the Mass on the one day you would expect it most, that is, Good Friday, makes one all the more aware of the Sacrifice that took place on that day. Covering sacred images also adds to the sense of sorrow and remorse that should naturally accompany this very somber time. The movie, “The Passion of the Christ” depicts this very clearly. The Gospel of John 8:59 states:  “…Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple.”
