“BAZAAR SPONSOR BANNERS WITH DIGITAL IMAGE”

This year something new is being offered to our Bazaar Sponsorship Club. A 3 ftx5ft colored banner will be personalized with a digital image (logo, photo, etc.) from a memory card or CD and displayed in a prominent location during the week of the bazaar. The donation for this banner is $250. Samples are available (that any individual, business, family would certainly be proud to see displayed) by calling Jim or Jeff Citak, Sponsor Coordinators, 265-6907. They will be happy to discuss further details regarding the image you would like to see displayed on your banner whether it be your business, organization, family, friends, baby photos, etc.

Of course, the “traditional” Bazaar Sponsor offering a professionally painted sign, 18”x24”, (all of which will be newly-painted this year) is still available to those who wish to patronize our parish bazaar in this fashion for a donation of $50…cost of which has remained the same for more than 25 years. In addition to the SIGN OR BANNER, posted on the mid-way, throughout the hours of the bazaar, sponsors will also be announced through the p.a. system, as well as being printed in a special flyer that will be inserted in the 1700 copies of our parish bulletin. In order to have the new signs and banners prepared in time for the bazaar…PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAT TUESDAY, MAY 8. So be sure to call Jim or Jeff a.s.a.p.!!!

Forms are also available at the rectory and may be picked up during office hours.

To everyone who has already become a member of THE BAZAAR SPONSORSHIP CLUB, the Bazaar Committee expresses their appreciation. And, to those of you who are still giving it some thought, we urge you to please respond favorably!

“COUNTRY STORE” As most parishioners are aware, the Trinity Ladies Club organize the store located in the 4-car garage behind the church/rectory. In addition to candy sales, hand-made items are also sold in the store. These items come from parishioners who “SHARE THEIR GOD-GIVEN TALENTS” by sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, making ceramics, floral arrangements, wood crafts, toys, and even home-made fudge, home-made candy, prepared jellies and jams and much, much more! If every “creative” member of the parish family made just ONE craft…could you just imagine what a beautiful array of gifts we could offer?

TLC (Trinity Ladies Club) also has workshops and makes things to sell at the store. Besides meeting in the church hall they also invite interested parishioners to help with projects that they can do at home. Chairperson of the workshops is Donna Miersejewski. Anyone interested is asked to give her a call @ 265-0881.

Costume jewelry is also a big seller in the Country Store. Used jewelry, but in excellent condition, is needed. Should you be getting “tired” of some of yours, why not donate it. All donations for the store can be brought to the rectory during office hours and would certainly be appreciated. No “used” items (with the exception of jewelry) are accepted. The store just does not have the space. Sorry…but thank you anyway!

2007 PARISH BAZAAR RAFFLE – To all members of our parish family who have made their ticket returns the Bazaar Raffle Committee - Co-chairpersons Kevin and Marie Buno – wish to thank you for your consideration. Remember…the success of this annual raffle is important to the total parish so everyone is asked to PLEASE make every effort to buy/sell the 10 tickets you have received and to make your returns as soon as possible.

Anyone who did not receive their tickets or anyone who would like additional tickets is asked to stop by the rectory during office hours.

Ticket returns may be either brought to the front door of the rectory and placed in the mail slot, mailed to the rectory or placed in the offertory collection basket.

- FAMILY PERSPECTIVE -

The expression of Jesus in today’s Gospel could be said by any parent; My children “hear my voice. I know them and they follow me.” The big question is: If they follow, where are you leading them?????

RALLY FOR HEALTH CARE- SATURDAY, MAY 5

Health care delayed… health care denied… health care anxieties multiplied – we hear these stories from our friends and neighbors more and more. There are numerous explanations for the unfair and unjust aspects of our current health care system, but one major cause is clearly the skyrocketing cost. Businesses, churches, schools, towns and families are finding it harder to keep up with health insurance premiums. United Action-an interfaith organization of 25 Catholic --and non-Catholic congregations collaborating on justice issues—has joined forces with the Connecticut Catholic Conference and the Catholic Bishops of Connecticut, as well as other prominent religious leaders and faith communities to fight for better, more affordable health care for ALL residents of this state, regardless of income, job status, citizenship, race, age, or “pre-existing conditions”, etc. This cooperative campaign for “universal” health care has led to 8 separate bills being considered now in Hartford .

On Saturday, May 5, there will be a very large rally in Bushnell Park beside the Capitol Building in Hartford from 11 AM to 1 PM. This rally has been planned to have the maximum possible impact on our current governor and legislators, who must negotiate and decide by June 6 whether we change the way we take care of our sisters’ and brothers’ health in one of the wealthiest states in America .  Free parking, food vendors, family-friendly music and activities, first-rate speakers, etc. are all part of the mix. For more information call Jay Klemundt, Lead Organizer, 860-704-0138, or visit the web at www.universalhealthct.org.

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father's hand." - Jn 10:28-29
