PRE-BAPTISM CLASSES – Baptism classes help prepare first time parents (and others) for bringing their child up in the faith, selecting godparents, and introducing or reviewing with them the special sacrament they are requesting for their child from the church. Classes are held on the last Tuesday of each month, with few exceptions. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall. Parents or soon-to-be-parents MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF HOLY TRINITY PARISH. Those wishing to attend a Tuesday class must call the rectory to register.

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS PARISHIONERS OF MOST HOLY TRINITY!

I am very happy to inform you that we have exceeded our parish goal for this year’s Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.  As of the May 21st report that I received, the total amount of pledges received has amounted to $100,933.80. We have now achieved 126.0% of our parish goal of $80,100.00. I am indeed grateful to the many parishioners who have pledged to help Archbishop Mansell in his very important work in the Archdiocese of Hartford. You, the parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish, should be very proud of what we have accomplished this year. Thank you again for your generous support of the 2007 Archbishop Annual Appeal.

KIDS 4 JESUS PROGRAM will meet on Monday, June 4 from 3:30-5:00 PM at the Parish Center . K4J is a monthly program that excites kids about practicing virtues such as friendship, respect, careful speech, and obedience. It gets the kids to think about and account for their behavior and helps parents to keep kids on track through games, races, and crafts that relate to the virtue and saint of the month. NO BINGO DURING BAZAAR WEEK…. We hope that you will enjoy our annual bazaar! See you back at the bingo tables on Friday, June 15 at 7:00 pm in the church hall.

TEEN PICNIC: CALLING ALL IN GRADES 8-12 TO THE YOUTH SUNDAY PICNIC WITH COOKOUT AND SOFTBALL will take place at Doolittle Park on Sunday, June 3 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Come for the food and the fun and a chance to win door prizes!!!

Celebrate the Glory of the Lord !!!

JOIN THE EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION ON THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI , NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 10 There will be a special outdoor Eucharistic Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 10, 2007. We will begin at SS. Peter and Paul Church ( 239 North Orchard Street ) at 4:00 in the afternoon. The procession will take place through the streets of the town to Most Holy Trinity Church . Along the way, various stations will afford opportunities for prayer and Benediction. Come and join us for this beautiful public profession of our faith and unique opportunity to ask God’s blessings on our town. Church ministries, and parish committees and organizations are encouraged to participate with members of their group. Contact Fr. Jeff for information or other details about celebrating this great feast.

On June 4th, the Wallingford Public Library visits grades K-4 to promote the summer reading program. 

The Auction Committee will meet on June 4, at 7:00 PM to continue plans for the HTS Auction 2008. 

The Casual Day on June 6th will benefit the Huff family. 

On June 6th, there will be a faculty meeting immediately following the school day. 

Grade 8 will see a presentation about graphing calculators on June 7th. 

June 8th, Family surveys are due to school for the Archdiocese. 

This week… the school families will be enjoying the church bazaar!!!!

ATTENTION GARDENERS !!!  It’s time to get things spruced up in the church gardens! Can you spare some time? Volunteers are needed to clean out the brush and withered flowers and get the soil ready for planting. Anyone who can lend a hand… especially a “green thumb” is asked to call Pauline Palmero and leave her a message at 269-0419. IT’S A GOOD THING! 

CHARISMATIC PRAYER MEETING takes place in the church on Monday, June 18 at 7:00 PM. 

PRAYERS FOR SPECIAL INTENTIONS AND PRAYER AND PRAISE MINISTRY – Anyone having a special intention they wish prayed for, privately, is asked to place it in writing (anonymously) before the statue of Blessed Mother. Those who have had their prayers “answered” and wish to share the circumstances with the ministry are also asked to place them in writing (anonymously) before the statue of Blessed Mother. This ministry wishes to “praise the Lord” for His many blessings

OPTIONS FOR ADOPTION SUPPORT GROUP meets on the third Sunday of the month. Those families who have already adopted or families interested in learning the adoption process are encouraged to attend the next meeting to be held at the Parish Center on Sunday, June 17, from 3:00-5:00 PM. THE ALTAR CARE COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE…

Everyone likes a prepared table and a clean house and volunteers are needed for a short time on Wednesday mornings to help clean up God’s house…. our church. Just a little bit of dusting, vacuuming, polishing, window wiping, sweeping, etc. is all that is needed. If you feel you can help our coordinator, Ginny DeBaise and friends, please give her a call at 269-3788.

 WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT EUCHARISTIC YOUTH HIKE

The great adventure will begin with a “Survivor” style hike. You and your peers will be separated into small tribes that need to overcome various obstacles. There will be special prizes fr the winning tribe, and the hike will conclude with Mass at the top of the mountain.

BIBLE SCHOOL: COME, JOIN OUR BIBLE JOURNEY! The Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education is now taking registration for adult bible classes beginning in September, 2007. Registration period: until August 15. Early registration is advised, since the complete registration process takes about two weeks, including mailings. THEOLOGY ON TAP: Serving the finest in Speakers, Conversation and Theology, presents Father Peter Lynch, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Bridgeport, who will be speaking on “WHAT IN GOD’S NAME ARE YOU DOING?: Discernment and Vocations As Reflection of Each Other”. ROSARY GARDEN PRAYER AT SS. PETER & PAUL - In 1917, Our Lady appeared to three children in Fatima , Portugal . She encouraged all to recite the Rosary for conversion and reparation of sins. Our Blessed Lady appeared on the 13th of the month from May to October. On Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 PM, the Rosary will be recited in the garden ( North Orchard Street , Wallingford ). In case of rain, the Rosary will be recited in SS. Peter and Paul Church at the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please be sure to bring a lawn chair. All are welcome to come and join us.

Upcoming on Saturday, June16 at 5:00 p.m. meet your host Joe D at Chick’s in West Haven for a bite to eat. Then park your car at St. John Vianney Church and take a walk along the beach. The group will finish the night off by stopping at the Creamery for ice cream. This is a rain or shine event.

MOST HOLY TRINITY BAKERS LIKE IT HOT IN THE KITCHEN… DON’T FORGET TO BAKE DURING THE WEEK OF THE BAZAAR! Many, many, (we never have enough) baked goods – cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, breads – are needed to be given away as prizes at the BINGO game. They can be brought to the rectory during office hours or brought directly to the game booth. The Bingo Game Booth depends on your donations in order to make 100% profit. Now, that’s sweet !!!! 

BAZAAR RAFFLE TICKET RETURNS!!!  Ticket returns – sold and/or unsold – may be brought to the rectory and dropped in the mail slot on the front door or brought to the Raffle Booth when you come to the bazaar. To those who have made their returns the Bazaar Raffle Committee, Chairperson Kevin and Marie Buno, wish to thank you for your consideration. Remember… the success of the raffle is important to the parish.

“DUNKEES WANTED”!!! Kim Pisani, captain of the ‘DUNKIN’ BOOTH” at the bazaar, again is making her unusual but FUN request. As Captain she needs plenty of volunteers throughout the week that are willing to get “dunked”. In order to keep her booth in operation every night of the Bazaar as well as at the Matinee she needs to schedule the “dunkees”. So…all “good sports” in the parish who are willing to help Kim… are asked to please give her a call as soon as possible @ 269-0546.
