THE RCIA PROCESS We announce that the RCIA Process, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, will begin again in the Fall at Most Holy Trinity Church. At this time, we invite those individuals who may be interested, to please contact us at the Parish Office, 269-8791, for further information. The RCIA Process is for adults 18 years and up. WHAT IS THE RCIA PROCESS? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, commonly known as the RCIA Process, is the way in which adults become full active participating members of the Catholic Church. It is a process in which those individuals who want to become Catholic receive the sacraments of the church. The letters “RCIA” stand for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The Rite or Process as it is called, of teaching adults the Catholic Faith, is not new. It dates back to the early days of Christianity in the life of the church. One of the chief characteristics of this process is that in the RCIA, the whole parish community takes a part in the development of the faith of the candidates. WHO IS THE RCIA PROCESS FOR? Those persons who are unchurched or unbaptized, single or married, family members of catholic parishioners who wish to become part of the Roman Catholic Community of Most Holy Trinity . 2.Non-Catholics who have shown an interest in the Catholic Church and would like to become a Catholic.3. Catholics who were baptized but never raised in the church and have not received the Sacraments of Penance, Communion or Confirmation. Also, those adults who have not practiced the faith for years and would like to be updated in the Catholic Faith. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO? Those who are interested in knowing more about the RCIA Process or would like to register for the program are asked to contact the Parish Office, 269-8791. Please note: You are not committing to anything at this time! We would like to have the opportunity to explain this process to you and answer any of your questions. The whole process will begin in the Fall and will be completed at the Easter Vigil in the Spring of 2008. We would encourage you at this time to think seriously at this time about he RCIA Process. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, IT WILL BE TIME TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL. Thinking school? Think Holy Trinity! Call Sr. Katie Kelly at 269-4476 for more information, for a tour of the school on 11 North Whittlesey Avenue or to get an application. Talk to her about how your child can get a Catholic education WELCOME NEW PARISHIONERS Please introduce yourself to one of our priests or deacons after Mass. And please be remember to register with the parish by completing a census form, which is conveniently available in any of the doorways of the church, and return it to the rectory office by placing it in the collection basket, or by dropping it off or mailing it back to the rectory, We welcome your participation and encourage you to share your time, talent, and treasure. PERHAPS YOU CAN BE THE PERSON TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY GIVING A CHILD THE GIFT OF FAITH With so many negative forces trying to attract the attention of our youth, more than ever children need a stronghold in life. They need to know the basics: who they are, where they came from, what they need to do, where they need to go, and how to make good choices that will help them now and in the future. And more than ever a strong faith is necessary and desired by these youngsters. Can you help them survive in a less than positive world? If you are interested in a teaching position in the Religious Education program, please contact Fran Selmecki, our Religious Education Coordinator at 265-6300 or 269-1389. Classes begin in the fall.
