PARISH COUNCIL MEETING will take place in the Church Hall on Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 PM. 

PARISH CHARISMATIC PRAYER MEETING will be in the Church Hall, Monday, September 17 at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to join us to worship and pray.

“Catechesis: Encountering the Living Christ.” Commissioning of our parish CCD teachers will take place on Sunday, September 16 at the 9:00 AM Mass. Catechetical Sunday is celebrated throughout the United States on this upcoming weekend to bless those teachers who give their time and talent to educate and faithfully bring Jesus into the lives of our children. It is a wonderful witness to our parish to see all those who are committed to making religious education available to our students at Most Holy Trinity. Parishioners and CCD families are encouraged to attend the commissioning of teachers and support our CCD program

SUNDAY BIBLE SCHOOL is in session on Sundays in the Church Hall during the 9:00 AM Mass.  If you would like more information about the program for your pre-schooler (3-5 year old boys and girls, who are potty-trained, please) or would like to register your child please call the Office of Religious Education at 265-6300.

CCD “READY-TO-WEAR” SOCK AND COAT DRIVE BEGINS NEXT WEEK ! Check your closets and drawers for any NEW or SLIGHTLY USED, (but CLEAN AND READY-TO-WEAR!) socks and coats. Then bundle them up and drop them off at the CCD Office, 1st floor of Holy Trinity School . Donations will be taken until Saturday, October 27. Call the CCD office with questions at 265-6300

School board members will meet at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 10th in the faculty lounge. 

Orientation will be held for all grades on Wednesday evening, September 12. Grades 6-8 at 7:00 PM; K-5 at 7:30 PM. Parents only please. 

The fall fundraiser buy out of $150 is due Thursday, September 13.

 

BINGO takes place in the church hall on Fridays at 7:00 PM. Our Friday bingo nights benefit the Holy Trinity Home and School Program. Come and join the fun… and hopefully it’s your lucky numbers that make you a winner! 

CHRISTIANS IN ACTION COMMITTEE WELCOME NEW MEMBERS FOR THE NEW 2007-2008 YEAR with an invitation to all parishioners to attend the meeting set for Wednesday, September 19 at 6:30 PM in the church hall. THE FIRST MEETING OF THE LADIES SOCIETY OF HOLY TRINITY TAKES PLACE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2007 AT 1 PM ! All ladies are invited to take part in this exciting opportunity to check out our newest parish organization! This first meeting takes place on Monday, September 10 in the Church Hall at 1:00 PM. Anyone interested in joining this fine group of ladies on its “maiden voyage” is welcome to attend and to help plan on the group’s upcoming calendar of activities. PARISH ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR (Sponsored by the Trinity Ladies Club)

Saturday, November 3   9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

CRAFTERS… First come basis-Rental space for $40, each craftsperson is entitled to an 8 foot table and chairs… $35 if you bring your own display set up (spacing 9x3’). Each participant is asked to please donate a craft for the parish raffle valued at no less than $10. This craft fair is limited to the sale of hand-crafted items and prepared items like potpourri, spices/herbs, jellies/jams/candies, etc. (no bake sales). Exceptions are only made to parish or community organizations with items being offered as fund-raisers, non-profit. Applications and particulars are available at the rectory. Call and one will be mailed to you or stop by the rectory during office hours. The State of Connecticut requires all participants (with the exception of non-profit) to acquire a State Tax Number. MERIDEN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN will hold the first meeting of the 2007-2008 season on September 13 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Education Center, 109 Lewis Avenue , Meriden . Their annual Autumn Breakfast will be on Sunday, September 23 at 9:30 AM at Holy Angels Parish Center , South Meriden . Tickets are $7.50 for adults; children 10 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the door. Mass will be at 8:30 AM followed by the breakfast at 9:30 AM. Call Mary B. at 235-2771.

WIVES TAKE NOTE: If your husband is jittery and nervous from business and family worries, encourage him to make the Parish Men’s Retreat. It will restore his peace of mind and allow him to face his day-to-day problems with tranquility and composure. The retreat will be held at the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in West Hartford , September 21 to 23. For information call the H.F. PARISH PICNIC – Groceries for bingo prizes and raffle items are needed for the picnic. If you would like to donate any of these items please drop them off at the rectory during office hours. Thank you in advance! 

OPTIONS FOR ADOPTION GROUP meets on the third Sunday of the month. Those families who have already adopted or families interested in learning the adoption process are encouraged to attend the next meeting to be held at the Parish Center on Sunday, September 16th, from 3:00-5:00 PM. HOLY TRINITY ADULT CHOIR holds regular rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM in the choir loft, and then the choir sings on Sunday at the 10:30 AM Mass. AMERICAN RED CROSS DINNER THEATER at Mountain Ridge, High Hill Road , Wallingford , will present a re-creation of the original famous Sinatra, Davis, Martin “Rat Pack” Las Vegas Show featuring nationally know impressionist and 22 musical numbers. SPEND A DAY WITH EWTN’S FATHER BENEDICT GROESCHEL, CFR on Saturday, October 27 from 10 AM to 3:30 PM, at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, Norwich . Father Benedict is one of the founding members of the community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. He is a well-known author and speaker and host of a weekly program on EWTN. He obtained his doctorate in psychology from Columbia University . Father Benedict will give two presentations: Christian Virtue and the New Psychology- How They Fit Together and Eucharistic Adoration and How It Fits into Our Spiritual Life. Cost person is $20, for students $10. A complimentary lunch is included with the ticket. ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY is an annual celebration by the Archdiocese of Hartford to honor couples who will be observing their 25th, 50th, 60th, or other special wedding anniversaries this year. Couples wishing to attend this special Mass in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Hartford , on Sunday, September 23 at 3:00 PM is asked to register by calling the rectory office at 269-8791. Archbishop Mansell will celebrate the Mass. During the Mass couples will renew their marriage vows. A simple reception will follow at the Cathedral. Families of these couples are also invited to join in on this wonderful Liturgy to demonstrated our positive support of Sacramental Marriage. 

COPING WITH LOSS is an interactive program using the video “Coping With Loss” by author and bereavement therapist, Clayton Barbeau at the Caritas Christi Center Hamden on Tuesday, September 25 from 7:00 – 9:00 PPM. This program is geared toward those who have suffered loss from death, divorce and the losses we face in daily living. There will be time for prayer, the video and sharing out thoughts. CURSILLO CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN AMERICA To celebrate 50 years of Cursillo in the USA , there will be a Mass on Monday, September 17 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 19 South Canal Street , Plainville , at 7:30 PM, with Archbishop Henry Mansell presiding. ARTS & CRAFTERS NEEDED TO MAKE ITEMS FOR THE ANNUAL ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR – Are you willing to donate a few hours once a week to create the spectacular items we sell at the A & C Fair we see every year? The TLC Crafters (Trinity Ladies Club) invite you to join them on Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 18 in the Church Hall from 7-9 PM  If you can cut, paste, glue or sew they can use a hand. (You need not be creative, projects are made available to you.). Call Donna Mierzejewski, 265-0881 for more information about the projects or the crafting times. Arrangements for those who would like to make projects in their home rather than coming to the church hall can also be made.  

CHAPLAIN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AT MASONIC – Many of us choose to give of ourselves to others. Consider continuing that spirit of giving by becoming a Chaplain Volunteer at Masonic Healthcare Center . This is an excellent program that will teach you skills that may be applied to ministry in church and community. It’s a great way to reach out to the elderly. “ABC’S OF ANNULMENTS”, an informational program designed to answer questions about the process of Annulments, will be held on Friday, September 28 from 7:00-9:00 PM in St. Joan of Arc Church , 450 West Todd Street , Hamden . Brother Larry Lussier, CSC, Pastoral Associate at St. Gabriel Church, Milford , will be the presenter. There will be a question and answer period following the presentation. The event is open to all seeking an annulment in the Catholic Church. Attending this session is required to attend the six follow-up Annulment Writing Sessions.  “AN EVENING FOR HUNTER”: A WINE TASTING BENEFIT FUNDRAISER in honor of Hunter Christian Pageau  will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at Café Ra, 1163 South Broad Street , Wallingford (on the road behind Staples Plaza ). From 5:30 to 8:30 PM you will enjoy wine tasting, gourmet appetizers and desserts. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets are $25 each and are available in advance at Café Ra and Serenity Salon of Wallingford. Hunter Pageau is 23 months old, and has been diagnosed with an extremely rare, progressively debilitating condition called SMARDI (spinal muscular atrophy with respiratory distress). Born with a paralyzed diaphragm, he is on a ventilator 24/7 and a G-Tube for feeding. Hunter’s needs are extensive and costly, with insurance not covering many of the items he needs. The goal of this and various fundraisers will be to purchase a handicapped accessible van, valued at $65,000. If you can, please help Hunter and his parents, Sharon and Adam who are parishioners at this Holy Trinity Parish. HOLY TRINITY YOUTH MINISTRY KICK-OFF CELEBRATION

Sunday, September 9 from 6:00-8:30 PM At the Parish Center

Kids in Grades 6-12 are invited to check out this special time set aside for them to embrace and live our Catholic faith in a new and vibrant way. Come with your friends and make some new ones. There will be wiffle ball and other fun games, prizes, music, make-your-own sundae, pizza and presentations, Holy Adoration and a sparkling fireworks display! BE THERE & SHARE THE SPIRIT!

REMEMBERING THE 6TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ATTACKS ON THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

On September 11, 2007, we will mark the 6th Anniversary of the attacks on the United States of America . A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Most Holy Trinity Church at the 7:00 PM, remembering those who died on that day at the World Trade Center , the Pentagon in Washington , D.C. and in Pennsylvania . We urge all our parishioners and friends to attend this Memorial Mass. This is a day of remembrance and prayer for the protection of our country and its citizens.
