“NEW DAY” / OUR PARISH BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP will get together on Wednesday, September 19. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM at the Parish Center . PRE-BAPTISM CLASSES – The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall. Parents or soon-to-be-parents MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF HOLY TRINITY PARISH. Those wishing to attend a Tuesday class must call the rectory to register, 269-8791.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW………. The Parish Finance Council has recommended that with the next set of offering envelopes, the offering amounts be adjusted. It has been many years since an adjustment to the envelope system has been made. Beginning with your October/November envelope packets, you will notice that the contribution amounts have been adjusted. With this adjustment, it is our hope that our parish will realize an increase in the weekly offertory collection. As you are well aware, the cost of electric, fuel, and insurance have increased dramatically over the past years. It is with your continued support of our parish that insures we can meet our weekly expenses and budget. I thank you for your continued support of Most Holy Trinity Church .

SUNDAY BIBLE SCHOOL is in session on Sundays in the Church Hall during the 9:00 AM Mass. OPTIONS FOR ADOPTION GROUP meets on the third Sunday of the month. Those families who have already adopted or families interested in learning the adoption process are encouraged to attend the next meeting to be held at the Parish Center on Sunday, September 16th, from 3:00-5:00 PM. H.O.P.E.S. COLLECTION HELPING OUR PARISH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS Please join in celebrating 30 years of HOPES – Helping Our Parish Elementary Schools – by participating in the HOPES Collection next weekend September 22-23. Almost 14,000 children throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford will benefit from your support of Catholic elementary schools. Your generous contribution to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of HOPES in next week’s second collection will help make Catholic school education accessible and affordable for thousands of deserving children. A Confirmation meeting with Mrs. Selmecki will be held in school on Tuesday, September 18 for 8th graders.

An informational meeting for new band students and their parents will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 6:30 PM.

There will be no school on Friday, September 21. Teachers will attend the Archdiocesan Teacher In-service Day.

CRAFTERS… First come basis-Rental space for $40, each craftsperson is entitled to an 8 foot table and chairs… $35 if you bring your own display set up (spacing 9x3’). Each participant is asked to please donate a craft for the parish raffle valued at no less than $10. This craft fair is limited to the sale of hand-crafted items and prepared items like potpourri, spices/herbs, jellies/jams/candies, etc. (no bake sales). Exceptions are only made to parish or community organizations with items being offered as fund-raisers, non-profit. Applications and particulars are available at the rectory. ON ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY, Sunday, September 23, the Archdiocese of Hartford hosts a special Mass in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Hartford , at 3:00 PM for those couples celebrating their 25th, 50th, 60th, or other special wedding anniversary. Archbishop Mansell will celebrate the Mass, at which couples will renew their marriage vows. A simple reception will follow at the Cathedral. Families of these couples are also invited to join in. Father Michael Carlson will complete his assignment here at Holy Trinity this weekend. We extend to him our prayerful best wishes. Father Michael will be returning to Rome , Italy to finish his degree in Sacred Theology at the Gregorian University in Rome . “Catechesis: Encountering the Living Christ”

This weekend our parish celebrates Catechetical Sunday with commissioning of Religious Education teachers at the 9:00 AM Mass. On behalf of the parish of Most Holy Trinity we wish to congratulate and thank Mrs. Fran Selmecki, our director of Religious Education, and her staff Mrs. Maureen Seeba and Mrs. Muriel Passariello. We also extend our appreciation and congratulations to the men and women who serve the church and our students as religious education instructors and aides. And to the parents and families who make faith in God an important part of the lives of their children. May God bless you abundantly for passing on our treasured faith onto our young students. May you all have a blessed and successful year.

At this meeting very important information will be given out regarding the Grade 9/Confirmation CCD Program you should not miss. There will also be a prayer service, and packets will be handed out. (Note: there will NOT be babysitting service provided during this meeting)
