Our ushers will be stationed in several locations in the Church to do this each week in October. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Food collection for holiday baskets begins on Monday, October 22nd. The ziti dinner will be held in the church hall on Monday, October 22 at 6:00 PM. The Magnet Fundraiser ends on Wednesday, October 24th. Have dinner at McDonald’s on Wednesday, October 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM to help the school. A percentage of that evenings proceeds will be donated to Holy Trinity School . There will be a Halloween event in the Church Hall at 6:00 PM on October 25th for Grades K-5. OPEN HOUSE & EXAMS IN AREA SCHOOLS XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL , Middletown – A Catholic college preparatory school for young men, will hold its Annual Open House for all interested 8th grade men and their parents on Sunday, October 21 from 1-4 PM to tour the school and meet with Xavier faculty, staff and students to learn about all that Xavier has to offer. The Freshman Entrance Exam will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 8:00 PM. Pre-registration for the exam is requested and can be done online at xavierhighschool.org. Students should bring 2-No. 2 pencils and $20 testing fee. A full four-year scholarship is awarded to the boy receiving the highest score on the exam. MERCY HIGH SCHOOL, Middletown- opens their doors for the Open House for young women at 1740 Randolph Road on Sunday, November 4. All students and parents are urged to participate in this project. “READY-TO-WEAR” SOCK AND COAT DRIVE Check your closets and drawers for any NEW or SLIGHTLY USED, (but CLEAN AND READY-TO-WEAR!) socks and coats. Then bundle them up and drop them off at the CCD Office, 1st floor of Holy Trinity School . Donations will be taken until Saturday, October 27. Call the CCD office with questions at 265-6300. The weekend of October 27 and 28 CCD students will be selling donuts after all Masses. SUNDAY BIBLE SCHOOL is in session in the Church Hall during the 9:00 AM Mass. The Sunday Bible School program is designed for pre-schoolers (3-5 year old boys and girls who are potty-trained, please). The program includes arts & crafts, songs, bible stories and learning prayers. Parents wishing to register their children are asked to please be in the church hall between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM; or call the Religious Education Office at 265-6300. YOUTH GROUP (for high school students) will meet at the Parish Center on Sunday, October 21 from 7-8:30 PM. The PPC meeting will be held at 6:30 PM. PLENTY OF MEXICAN FOOD! Everyone is invited to a traditional Mexican fair/bake sale called a “Kermés” in the Church Hall on Sunday, October 21 from 2:45-4:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to enjoy traditional Mexican food and participate in a raffle. The fair helps to raise funds for the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration in December, the patron saint of the Americas and of the Unborn. Come and enjoy!

GET CRAFTY ON TUESDAY NIGHT–The TLC Crafters (Trinity Ladies Club) invite you to join them on Tuesday, October 23 in the Church Hall from 7-9 PM If you can cut, paste, glue or sew they can use a hand.. Call Donna Mierzejewski, 265-0881 for more information about the projects or the crafting times. CRAFTING AT HOME is a great way to spend your time as the nights get longer and darker. And the Trinity Ladies Club members are hoping that all parishioners who can sew, paint, make floral arrangements or items out of wood, metal, ceramics, or whatever will share their “GOD-GIVEN TALENTS” and donate craft items that can be sold with all proceeds going to the parish. The sale of parishioner’s donatons will continue on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, following the 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 Masses. Donations may be brought to the rectory during office hours… weekdays 9 AM to 4 PM. NEW AND USED JEWELRY DONATIONS, TOO! Open to the public…TLC hopes that many, many parish family members will come down to the hall and give support to this event that they sponsor annually. There will be something for everyone! The “Country Kitchen” will open in the morning with coffee, tea, juice, donuts, muffins and bagels on the menu. At 11:30 AM, lunch will be available featuring a variety of soups, sandwiches, and home-made pies for dessert. PIES!!! PIES!!! PIES!!! Traditionally, the Parish Arts & Crafts Fair, serves pie by the slice and sells whole pies to go! Of course, the more pies, the more the profit. And, where do these pies come from??? Why, of course… the members of our parish family who baked them for us!!! And, so if you bake pies… PLEASE consider baking at least one for the fair. THE FEAST OF ALL SOULS The Feast of All Souls will be celebrated on Friday, November 2nd. Each year the Church sets aside a day to remember all the Faithfully Departed. Enclosed in your envelope packets you will find the All Souls envelope. You are asked to return your All Souls Envelope as soon as possible. All envelopes received will be placed in front of the altar for the month of November. All Souls envelopes are also available at the entrances of the church. BISHOP ROSAZZA TO RECEIVE PASSIONIST HEART AWARD- West Hartford’s Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center will honor Bishop Rosazza with the first ever Passionist Heart Award for his work for peace and social justice around the world.
