DEMONSTRATION AGAINST EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH AT UCONN In a recent article in the September 2007 “CT Right To Life” Newsletter, “ Connecticut has awarded nearly $20 million to fund projects involving embryonic stem cell research at UCONN in Storrs , UCONN Health Center in Farmington , and Yale and Wesleyan Universities . According to statements in the Hartford Courant, researchers at those institutions intend to obtain the embryonic stem cells from frozen embryos, “leftovers” from in vitro fertilization, which will kill these embryonic human beings. In addition, at least one state funded project at UCONN will involve cloning human beings for the purpose of killing them within the first two weeks of life in order to take their embryonic stem cells. DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER WE REMEMBER THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED

Prayer for the Faithful Departed

            Dear God,

                        Death, as much as birth, is a part of the circle of life.

                        Hear our prayers for all those who have returned home to you:

                                    those who have died suddenly or in accidents;

                                    people who have been victims of violence or war;

                                    the men and women of our armed forces who protected us,

                                    police, fire, or emergency personnel who fought to save us,

                                    men, women, and children who have died, especially

                                    because of frailness, illness, famine, abuse or neglect;

                                    those who have died due to abortion or from their addictions;

                                    and especially for our dear departed loved ones whom we

                                    call precious family and special friends.

                        Give us comfort in our grief, faithfully trusting in your eternal love.

                        May all those who have served you on earth

                        share in the fullness of joy in your heavenly kingdom.

                        Bring us all to the glory of the resurrection,

                        united forever in the embrace of Jesus, Our Savior.  Amen.
