REMINDERS FOR ALTAR SERVERS GOING ON THE OUTING TO LAKE COMPOUNCE on Monday, July 17: Those servers going on the outing are reminded they must ride on the bus, and attend a special morning Mass on July 17th at 9:15 AM, being celebrated by Father Jeff. After a light breakfast, they will board the bus at 10:08. The bus returns from the park at 4:45 PM and will return to our parking lot by 5:30 PM. Please bring a bathing suit and towel if you are planning to use the water park

ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASSES are being offered by the Archdiocesan Religious Education Office this Fall. Two sessions are being offered: Tuesday Sessions: September 5, 2, 19, 26 and October 3, and 10 at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, 7-9 PM Thursday Sessions: September 7, 14, 21,28 and October 5, and 12 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Hamden, 7-9 PM There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of the books (paid at class). An information/registration form (available at our rectory office) must be completed in full and submitted before the first day of class. Father Gary’s signature is needed at the end of the form, indicating that he has seen the completed form and approves it.
Two certificates are required: a certificate
verifying Baptism information, and a Sponsor Certificate (your Confirmation
sponsor needs to request a certificate from the parish where they are
presently registered and practicing). The fall celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults is scheduled for October 23, 2006, at St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield at 7:30 PM
CREDO CATHOLIC SINGLES The next Credo Special Event will be Saturday, July 29th at 5 PM. Meet Credo friends for dinner and a movie! RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS / RCIA PROGRAM If you, or someone you know of is interested in the Catholic faith or Catholic who has not yet received First Holy Communion or the Sacrament of Confirmation…please call Linda Scala, Coordinator, at 949-0799. This process consists of approximately 25 sessions and is held following the homily at the 10:30 Sunday Masses from September through April. Clergy and laity serve as catechists.
LOOKING FOR A QUALITY EDUCATION FOR YOUR CHILD? Holy Trinity School, 11 North Whittlesey Avenue, Wallingford is currently accepting applications for the 2006-2007 academic year. ARCHDIOCESAN BIBLE SCHOOL: BEGIN YOUR BIBLE JOURNEY WITH US! This program is intended for adults who wish to meet the Lord in a deeper way through Scripture, and who seek the assistance that a guided journey provides. The Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education is now taking registrations for classes beginning in September 2006. The registration process must be completed at least two weeks before Orientation Day, Saturday, August 26. HELP! RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS ARE NEEDED– If you are ready to share your knowledge of our Catholic faith with our students, and can spare just a few hours a week, Fran Selmecki, our Religious Ed Coordinator is looking for your help. Teachers are needed in each of the following grades: Grade 5 Teacher – Mondays, 3:15 to 5:00 PM Grade 4 Teacher – Tuesdays, 3:15 to 5:00 PM Grade 8 Teacher – Tuesdays, 6:45 to 8:00 PM ** Also, teachers are needed for our Sunday Bible School program, which meets in the church hall during the 10:30 AM Mass on Sundays beginning in the Fall. GLOBAL WARMING IS AFFECTING YOUR LIFE! The parish CHRISTIANS IN ACTION COMMITTEE has just received a video from the Archdiocesan Office of Urban Affairs called “God’s Creation & Global Warming”, which will be presented as part of it regular meeting on Wednesday, July 19, in the church hall at 7:00 PM. Interested parishioners are invited to attend this meeting and discuss ways we may best live as stewards of God’s creation. As always, new members to the committee are always welcome.
SS. PETER & PAUL ROSARY GARDEN PRAYER In 1917, Our Lady appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal. She encouraged all to recite the Rosary for conversion and reparation of sins. Our Blessed Lady appeared on the 13th of the month from May to October. Beginning in August, you, your family and friends are invited to recite the Rosary on the 13th of the month in the SS. Peter & Paul Church Rosary Garden at 7:00 PM. Sunday, August 13 Wednesday, September 13 Friday, October 13 In case of rain the Rosary will be recited in the church (127 North Orchard Street) at the Altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Everyone is encouraged to attend this beautiful devotion to Our Lady.

EUCHARISTIC YOUTH RALLY 2006 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28Living the Love of God In the Eucharist, In One Another The youth of the parish are invited to participate in this special local rally, which promises to bring spiritual enrichment and excitement in being present with God and with other area youth. Events include the celebration of the Mass; Music by the R.O.C.K. Group (Revival of Catholic Kids), dynamic speakers and witness talks, a special team challenge game with cash and prizes, and a special Candlelight Adoration and Procession of the Holy Eucharist.
