EDUCATE YOUR CHILD HERE - OPENINGS AT HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL

Holy Trinity School, 11 North Whittlesey Avenue, Wallingford is currently accepting applications for the 2006-2007 academic year. Openings exist in grades 1 and 2. There may be select openings in other grades.

For over 90 years, we have offered a quality Catholic education program for students in grades K-8. There will be a full-day kindergarten program beginning in September. Our kindergarten for this year is full. We will begin registration for kindergarten 2007-2008 in September. Please call 269-4476 for an application or information.

Holy Trinity School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It is the only elementary school in Wallingford accredited by an outside agency.

This program is intended for adults who wish to meet the Lord in a deeper way through Scripture, and who seek the assistance that a guided journey provides. The Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education is now taking registrations for classes beginning in September 2006. The registration process must be completed at least two weeks before Orientation Day, Saturday, August 26. MINI-GOLF TOURNAMENT

Join Father Jeff and friends, from Noon to 4:00 PM, at Hidden Valley Mini Golf, West Street, Southington (exit 31 off I-84) for this fun event, open to everyone. Golfers compete for prizes to be awarded at the end of the tournament. The cost is $5. Please register by calling the rectory at 269-8791. For more information, contact Fr. Jeff.

You are invited to a wonderful family event! Our Parish is hoping to arrange for a bus to bring any families and young people from our parish youth groups to the festival (Saturday, August 12) in Framingham, MA. Mass will be celebrated by Most Rev. Cardinal O’Malley (Archbishop of Boston); a huge concert featuring Fr. Stan Fortuna, Sean Forrest, Martin Doman, and others; a breakout tent with interesting speakers; food vendors; many games and activities for children; and much more. If we have enough interest, the coach bus will leave our parking lot at 10:45 AM and return around 11:45 PM. The cost is $39/person and $29/child 12 and under. This covers the bus, admission ticket, and a fun “snack pack.” All are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and picnic style meals. If you have any question, please contact Fr. Jeff. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28

The youth of the parish are invited to participate in this special local rally, which promises to bring spiritual enrichment and excitement in being present with God and with other area youth. Events include the celebration of the Mass; Music by the R.O.C.K. Group, dynamic speakers and witness talks, a special team challenge game with cash and prizes, and a special Candlelight Adoration and Procession of the Holy Eucharist. God is Love! WEDNESDAY ALTAR CARE GROUP NEEDS HELPERS

Every Wednesday morning, following the 8:30 AM Mass until 10:00 AM, the Altar Care Committee cares for the sanctuary area as well as other areas in the church and sacristy. Volunteers who are willing and able to help out with “chores” are asked to call Ginny DeBaise, 269-3788 for a “job description.”

BINGO will be held at 7:00 PM on Fridays during the summer in our air-conditioned church hall.

2 SPECIAL SUMMER MUSIC PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

SIGN-UP DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JULY 8

YOUTH PERFORMANCE ORCHESTRA (for high school and middle school students) will hold rehearsals this summer. To register call the rectory at 269-8791 or Mary Ellen Eckels at 284-2101.

SONRISE: A SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP, which will be held in the church hall, meets for 2 weeks as participants work on the production of GODSPELL.  The camp runs July 24-28 and July 31-August 4 (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 11 AM), and includes the theatrical arts of singing, dancing, acting and storytelling. The Youth will present their work for the parish within the liturgy of Sunday Mass. All youth of the parish in grades 1-8^th are welcome to participate. Daily activities include Morning Mass, snacks and rehearsals. Registration forms, available at the rectory, are due by July 8 along with a $150.00 fee. GOLF TOURNAMENT

On Friday, June 16, 2006, 124 parents, alumni and friends of Holy Trinity School participated in our second annual Golf Tournament for the benefit of our school.  Supported by volunteer parents, current high school alumni and recent eighth grade graduates, the participants enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of golf followed by dinner at the events host, the Traditions Golf Club of Wallingford.  This highly successful event raised over $11,000 for the school’s general fund.  This was made possible through the generosity of approximately 40 sponsors and numerous donations to the events raffle from local families and firms.
