SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28 1:00-9:00 PM OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL CHURCH, MERIDEN “Deus Caritas Est” (God Is Love) Living the Love of God In the Eucharist, In One AnotherThe youth of the parish are invited to participate in this special local rally, which promises to bring spiritual enrichment and excitement in being present with God and with other area youth. Events include the celebration of the Mass; Music by the R.O.C.K. Group, dynamic speakers and witness talks, a special team challenge game with cash and prizes, and a special Candlelight Adoration and Procession of the Holy Eucharist. God is Love! JESUS DECODED, the new, high-quality production of The Catholic Communications Campaign, is the Catholic response to the DaVinci Code. The program will air on WTXX, WB20 on July 15th at Noon. This is one sample of the benefits from your annual contribution to the Catholic Communication Campaign. WTXX, WB20 also airs the Celebration of the Eucharist daily at 10 AM for those who are hospitalized or home-bound.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone for the very warm welcome to Most Holy Trinity Parish last weekend. It was so good to see so many old friends from Wallingford and to meet so many parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish.
I am indeed grateful to Lynette Clinton and the members of the Hospitality Committee for all their work in putting the reception on following each Mass. Thank you for the wonderful reception. May the Lord bless you all for the great work that you do.

EDUCATE YOUR CHILD HERE -OPENINGS AT HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL Holy Trinity School, 11 North Whittlesey Avenue, Wallingford is currently accepting applications for the 2006-2007 academic year. Openings exist in grades 1 and 2. There may be select openings in other grades. For over 90 years, we have offered a quality Catholic education program for students in grades K-8. There will be a full-day kindergarten program beginning in September. Our kindergarten for this year is full. We will begin registration for kindergarten 2007-2008 in September. It is the only elementary school in Wallingford accredited by an outside agency.
ARCHDIOCESAN BIBLE SCHOOL:BEGIN YOUR BIBLE JOURNEY WITH US!This program is intended for adults who wish to meet the Lord in a deeper way through Scripture, and who seek the assistance that a guided journey provides. The Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education is now taking registrations for classes beginning in September 2006. The registration process must be completed at least two weeks before Orientation Day, Saturday, August 26. ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASSES are being offered by the Archdiocesan Religious Education Office this Fall. Two sessions are being offered: Tuesday Sessions: September 5, 12, 19, 26 and October 3, and 10 at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, 7-9 PM Thursday Sessions: September 7, 14, 21,28 and October 5, and 12 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Hamden, 7-9 PM There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of the books. An information/registration form (available at our rectory office) must be completed in full and submitted before the first day of class. Father Gary’s signature is needed at the end of the form, indicating that he has seen the completed form and approves it.

Baptism information, and a Sponsor Certificate
(your Confirmation sponsor needs to request a certificate from the
parish where they are presently registered and practicing). The fall celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults is scheduled for October 23, 2006, at St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield at 7:30 PM.
ALTAR SERVER OUTING/SIGN-UP BY THURSDAY, JULY 13 – The annual Altar Server Outing to Lake Compounce takes place on Monday, July 17. Those servers wishing to go on the outing are reminded they must ride on the bus, and attend a special morning Mass on July 17th at 9:15 AM, being celebrated by Father Jeff. After a light breakfast, they will board the bus at 10:08. The bus returns from the park at 4:45 PM and will return to our parking lot by 5:30 PM. Permission slips must be in by Thursday, July 13….we need to know how many tickets to purchase! If you are planning on attending please call the rectory ASAP to save your seat on the bus, 269-8791. NEEDY STUDENT FUND – Your ongoing support of the Needy Student Fund for Holy Trinity School students/parents has helped many families who are having difficulty meeting tuition payments due to unforeseen circumstances. Donations – large or small – can be made at any time of the year and are always appreciated. If using the offertory collection to make a donation please mark the envelope “NEEDY STUDENT FUND”, or should you prefer you may give it to one of our priests or deacons.
CREDO CATHOLIC SINGLES meet monthly at Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury in the meeting room of the Michael J. McGivney Memorial Building. Our Parish is hoping to arrange for a bus to bring any families and young people from our parish youth groups to the festival (Saturday, August 12) in Framingham, MA. Mass will be celebrated by Most Rev. Cardinal O’Malley (Archbishop of Boston); a huge concert featuring Fr. Stan Fortuna, Sean Forrest, Martin Doman, and others; a breakout tent with interesting speakers; food vendors; many games and activities for children; and much more. If we have enough interest, the coach bus will leave our parking lot at 10:45 AM and return around 11:45 PM. The cost is $39/person and $29/child 12 and under. This covers the bus, admission ticket, and a fun “snack pack.” All are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and picnic style meals. If you have any question, please contact Fr. Jeff. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS / RCIA PROGRAMIf you, or someone you know of is interested in the Catholic faith or Catholic who has not yet received First Holy Communion or the Sacrament of Confirmation…please call Linda Scala, Coordinator, at 949-0799. This process consists of approximately 25 sessions and is held following the homily at the 10:30 Sunday Masses from September through April. Clergy and laity serve as catechists.
